Belleville residents can map out visits to eight new food vendors that opened along the West End corridor between May and July 2026.
The timing aligns with the city's push to fill empty storefronts after the 2025 rezoning of the old rail yards, which cut commercial rents by 18 percent in targeted blocks and drew small operators who now serve weekday lunch crowds.
Start at The Spice Route on 12th Street, where lunch plates run $11 to $14 and feature rotating daily specials drawn from the Belleville Food Collective's shared kitchen program. Two blocks south, the Harbor District pop-up at Central Plaza runs every Thursday through August, with vendors offering items such as $4.50 tacos and $7 grain bowls that draw lines by 11:45 a.m.
Routes through the West End and Harbor District
Walkers leaving the 12th Street stop on the Blue Line can reach both locations in under eight minutes. The Belleville Chamber of Commerce logged 45 new food vendors registered in the first half of 2026, compared with 32 in the same period last year, according to its June report.
