Officials conducted a test notification on June 18, 2025, to confirm resident registration and message delivery. Paramedic Service Pressures

Paramedic services in Belleville recorded a 37 percent rise in ambulance calls across a five-year span. This sustained increase has prompted internal reviews of staffing levels and operational capacity to maintain response times amid growing demand.

Fire Coverage Expansion

In 2025 the city created the Cannifton Rural to Urban tax area, shifting approximately 2,200 properties from volunteer fire services to full-time urban fire services. The change standardizes response capabilities for the affected zone and aligns fire protection with urban standards already in place elsewhere in Belleville.
