Changes to Services and Infrastructure

Residents who travel Main Street between the courthouse and the riverfront will see crews replace sections of pavement and update traffic signals. The initiative also expands training courses at the community center on Lincoln Avenue, adding sessions on construction safety and basic logistics that run three evenings each week. Households near the downtown core stand to gain from fewer pothole complaints and new course slots that accept up to 180 participants per quarter.

The approved budget document states that $4.8 million will cover the first phase of projects, with $2.1 million assigned to street resurfacing and the remainder to equipment purchases and instructor contracts. City records show the public works department currently maintains 87 miles of local roads, providing a baseline for the new repair schedule.
