Shop owners on Rue Mouffetard have been told deliveries must occur before 7am once paving begins in January 2027.
The 2026 budget paper lists 3.2 million euros for these three streets in the 5th arrondissement, an increase of 400,000 euros from the 2025 figure for comparable work. City records show the funds cover new lighting on 800 metres of pavement and replacement of 120 tree grates.
Phased Timeline Ahead
The government says the policy will reach full completion by mid-2028. Notifications will be posted on building doors in August and mailed to all addresses within 200 metres of the sites. Later stages include tree planting along Rue Mouffetard in spring 2027 and final lighting tests in early 2028. Policy analysts say each segment closes only after the preceding one passes inspection.
