Local commuters who currently wait up to 18 minutes during peak hours stand to gain shorter intervals if the funding reaches the scheduled operators on time.
The same document lists 2.4 million euros for platform improvements at Abbesses station. These works include new ticket machines and lighting upgrades that the regional transport authority expects to complete before the end of 2028. Households near the station may notice temporary street closures during construction phases outlined in the project schedule.
Budget papers released with the bill show that the 18 million euro allocation forms part of a larger 420 million euro regional transport envelope for 2027. Of that total, 8 percent is assigned to the 18th arrondissement, a figure drawn directly from the council’s published distribution table.

Applications for small business grants tied to the transport changes open on 1 September 2026 at the mairie of the 18th arrondissement. Shop owners along Rue des Abbesses can submit requests for loading-zone adjustments once the new service timetables are published. The regional council has stated that final route maps will be released by December 2026.
