Belleville Sports Leagues Keep Youth, Adult Programs Running Strong
Youth and adult programs maintain scheduled play in softball, hockey and related activities during July.
How we reported this
Belleville sports programs continued regular league play this week with youth fast-pitch softball games scheduled through July for participants ages 8 to 18.
Softball Leagues
Spring fast-pitch games take place in May, June and July while adult slow-pitch softball leagues begin sessions in April and again in September at Citizens Park. Adult slow-pitch games under the lights remain part of the weekly schedule alongside indoor volleyball leagues open to women, co-recreational and recreational divisions.
Youth Sports and Flag Football
The Belleville Parks & Recreation Department works with Champions Sports Academy to run Girls Flag Football and additional youth sports for grades K through 8 that include baseball, basketball, soccer and wrestling. These offerings operate across Belleville locations and support consistent participation during the summer months.
Bowling and Ball Hockey Programs
In Belleville the Quinte Youth 10-pin Bowling League holds Saturday morning sessions from September through April for youth up to age 21, with registration listed at $40 and weekly fees of $18 that cover games, shoe rental and a shirt. The Belleville and Quinte Minor Ball Hockey League operates at 110 percent capacity for children ages 3 to 18 at the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre, supplying teams, officials, timekeepers and most goalie equipment.
Adult classes such as Zumba at Nichols Community Center require participants to be at least 14 years old and add to the range of recreational options available alongside the team leagues. Programs emphasize ongoing access rather than one-time events.
Participants can check current schedules through the Belleville Parks & Recreation Department listings or the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre for registration and game times. Leagues maintain standard operations without announced changes for the remainder of the summer period.
