Belleville Tech Startups Secure $478 Million in Record Q2 Venture Funding
Local startups in artificial intelligence and clean tech pulled in $478 million during the second quarter, driven by targeted investments in downtown corridors.
How we reported this

Belleville technology companies raised $478 million in venture funding during the second quarter of 2026, a 34 percent jump from the same three months in 2025, according to data compiled by the Belleville Economic Development Agency.
The influx arrives as global markets seek steadier ground amid shipping disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and repeated typhoon damage across Asia. Investors have shifted capital toward established North American hubs that offer both engineering talent and lower regulatory friction than coastal clusters.
Funding Concentrated Along Key Corridors
Most of the new money landed inside two neighborhoods. The Innovation Mile running along Liberty Avenue hosted three Series B rounds totaling $210 million, while the Harbor District warehouse conversion on 7th Street attracted $165 million through the Belleville Startup Lab accelerator program. A separate $103 million tranche went to firms working out of the Riverfront Tech Park, which opened its second building in March.
The Belleville Economic Development Agency report issued July 10 showed that clean-energy software companies accounted for 41 percent of the quarter total. One Harbor District firm closed a $72 million round at a $480 million valuation on June 28, the largest single deal recorded in the city so far this year.
