Latin Quarter Aquatic Centres Roll Out Expanded Swim Programs for All Ages
New sessions at two neighbourhood pools target families, seniors and students starting next month.
How we reported this

The Latin Quarter Aquatic Centre will launch eight new group swim classes on August 3, 2026, at its main facility on Rue des Bernardins and a second site on Rue Soufflot.
Community fitness organisers cite summer demand and recent local health campaigns that promote water-based exercise for joint health and social connection as reasons the programs arrive now. The push follows a 22 percent rise in pool visits recorded by the Paris municipal recreation department between May and June this year.
Programs Tailored for Every Generation
At the Rue des Bernardins location, the Monday morning Senior Float Circuit draws participants aged 65 and older for 45-minute sessions that combine gentle laps with balance drills. Tuesday evenings feature the Family Lane Share on Rue Soufflot, where parents and children aged five to twelve share lanes under instructor supervision. University students can join the Wednesday evening endurance set at the same Rue Soufflot pool, limited to 30 spots per class.
Both venues sit within a five-minute walk of the Luxembourg Gardens metro entrance, making access straightforward for residents of the Saint-Victor and Sorbonne neighbourhoods. The Latin Quarter Wellness Network, a coalition of 14 local clubs, coordinates instructors and equipment for all sessions.
Registration and Access Details
Single-class fees stand at 14 euros for adults and 9 euros for children under 14, with monthly passes priced at 48 euros. Last season the Rue des Bernardins pool recorded 1,850 total attendances across similar programs. Online sign-up opens July 12 through the network website, with paper forms available at the front desk on Rue Soufflot from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
Residents seeking a first session should arrive 15 minutes early to complete a brief health form and receive lane assignments. Those with mobility concerns can request a pool lift at either site by calling the booking line 48 hours ahead.
