Montparnasse Adds Fitness Equipment to Two Dog-Friendly Parks

Two Montparnasse locations lead the change
At Jardin Atlantique, behind Gare Montparnasse on Rue du Commandant René Mouchotte, trainers from the local association Bouge Montparnasse run Tuesday and Thursday circuits that start with a 10-minute perimeter walk before moving to resistance bands and balance work. A second hub operates at Square Boucicaut on Rue de Sèvres, where the city added fenced dog zones and shared pull-up bars in May; participants pay a 12-euro monthly fee to join coached sessions that end with cool-down stretches near the playground.
City data released on 2 July showed 312 people had signed up for combined dog-and-fitness programs at these two sites since the new equipment opened, with average attendance per session reaching 19 participants. The same report listed 47 similar mixed-use parks now operating across Paris, up from 29 in 2024.
How to join a session this month
Interested residents can register through the Paris.fr app under the “Parcs Actifs” section or show up at Jardin Atlantique by 8 a.m. on Tuesdays; dogs must carry current vaccination tags and remain on leash during strength portions. The next free introductory class at Square Boucicaut begins 15 July at 7:45 a.m.
