Two sites draw steady crowds
Swimmers at the Parc Georges Brassens pool share space with the weekly Wednesday market on Boulevard Lefebvre, where entry costs 5 euros for a two-hour slot and lockers require a 2-euro coin deposit. A second set of rock pools sits inside the Jardin Atlantique behind Gare Montparnasse, where natural stone edges create 25-metre lanes that fill by 8am on weekdays.
The Jardin Atlantique facility, managed by the same district sports office that runs the Brassens site, added a new pump system last month to keep water at 24 degrees. Both locations now accept the Paris Pass Sport card, which covers 12 sessions for 48 euros and records usage through a single app.
Records from the district sports office show 940 lap-swim visits logged across the two sites in the first week of July, up from 610 during the same period last year. The office attributes the rise to extended morning hours and the addition of floating lane dividers that reduce crowding.
Users can check real-time lane availability on the Mairie du 14e website or arrive before 7:30am on weekdays to secure a spot at either pool. Staff recommend bringing a kickboard for the rock-pool lanes, which lack starting blocks.
